FAA PROGRAM FOR EMERGING LEADERS

The nomination process for selecting the next cohort of participants in the Program for Emerging Leaders (PEL) will open Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Final selections will be made in mid-August and development activities initiated in September.
PEL provides opportunities over an 18 month period for assessment, mentoring, training, and developmental assignments focused on the FAA Managerial Success Profile. The program is open to full time, non-supervisory employees who have at least one year of FAA experience and meet the minimum qualifications for a frontline management position in their current LOB/SO organizational unit. Participation is voluntary. Completion is not required for promotion to a management position and does not convey preferential consideration when managerial vacancies arise.
Program Guidelines, Frequently Asked Questions, a listing of LOB/SO Action Officers, and access to the online application system are available at:
https://employees.faa.gov/org/staffoffices/ahr/learn_develop/

Applicants must complete and forward their application for endorsement by July 10. Endorsements by their first and second level managers must be submitted by July 17. (After logging on to the system, employees who applied for the first cohort earlier this year may update and resubmit their original application. However, their first and second level managers must re-endorse their applications.)
Questions about agency-wide implementation may be directed to Faye Jonas (AHD-100) at faye.jonas@faa.gov. For guidance regarding PEL implementation within your LOB/SO, please contact your designated Action Officer.
