Fourth in a Series: The Leading Edge Forum
by James GraysonThe Leading Edge Forum for 2009 will be held May 4-8, 2009. While keeping the attendance at approximately 250 people, the target audience has expanded this year to include Service Center and Headquarters personnel.
This year’s identification process used the same criteria as last year, as well as additional competencies that will be required for the post-event tasking that is so essential to this initiative. The attendees will be required to reach out to their peers and the workforce in a variety of ways. Because of this, we sought to identify individuals who are not only informal leaders, but also those who are willing and capable to deliver their knowledge and skills, whether in face to face meetings or through new communications vehicles.
The forum will have a similar format to last year, with a focus on leadership skills in times of change, ATO knowledge enrichment (i.e. NextGEN and Safety Culture) and practical application of the skills needed for post-event assignments. We will also continue the interaction with senior leadership as it was proven to be beneficial in both establishing a shared vision and a feedback channel which has shaped the actions of the OOE, SALC and the senior leadership of the ATO.
